Mint and used collection in two Lighthouse hingeless albums, well-filled from 1840 to the end of the pre-decimal period, including (used unless otherwise stated) five penny blacks in mixed condition, three 1840 2d blue shades all four margins, four margin imperf reds mint and used incl. worn plate, 2d blue 'lines' MX cancel, lots of plates on the perf reds and blues, the four letters 1d reds near-complete incl. pl.117 inverted wmk and pl.225 perfin, with further line-engraved incl. mint 1½d and ½d plates, the ½d plate 9 used with pulled corner yet presentable. Surface-printed is extensive with mint/unused to 1/- (orange-brown 1880) though we assume much is regummed, also useful high values incl. 1878 £1 brown-lilac wmk Maltese cross repaired lower-left, 1883/84 5/- mint shades (one on blued paper according to the collector) and superb cds 10/- ultramarine, followed by 1891 £1 green (pinholes), many KEVII types incl. both 10/- printings and Somerset House £1 green as well as mint to 1/-, through to UPU £1, etc, etc. Huge catalogue, though condition varies considerably.
