The Portrait of Elizabeth Mary (Fraser) Lascelles has some light surface dirt and discoloured varnish. There is a repair to the top right hand corner of the canvas (see images of the reverse). Fine craquelure in places, especially to the eyelids, right hand side of her face, under her nose and within the purple flowers. The portrait of Lieutenant Lionel Lascelles has some light surface dirt and discoloured varnish. There is a brown mark to his left cheek. Areas where the paint is thin in places due to the artist's application. A number of brush bristles to the surface. These works have not been examined with a uv light.
