Warnes (George R.), Burlesque Sketches: Principally of A. Walker and of Other Otley People.
An album of cartoon sketches by George R. Warnes, presented to Mr A. Walker of Otley, President of the Otley Mechanics Institute, as "reminders" of the monthly meeting of the Institue. Noted on the first leaf: "Each "reminder" illustrated some incident connected with A. W., previous to each meeting, and which Mr. Warnes' ready wit had fastened upon as a fit subject for smart Cartoons". Appprox 52 sketches, 1898-1915, ink on paper, the majority window mounted in linen-hinged card leaves with captions beneath, various sizes, worn cloth binding (majority of leaves detached).
