Taxidermy: A Cased European Kingfisher (Alcedo athis), circa early 20th century, a full mount adult European Kingfisher in flight with wings outstretched, above a simulated glass pool of water, amidst a natural setting of tall grasses, set against a watercolour painted river scene back drop, enclosed within a typical period ebonised three-glass display case, 26cm by 17cm by 37cm, watercolour back drop re-painted and case restored by A.J. Armitstead, Taxidermist & Naturalist, Darlington, Co Durham.
