A Second World War Group of Four Medals, awarded to S/250375 Sergeant Leslie James Ryder RASC, comprising 1939-45 Star, Burma Star, Defence and War Medal, also the Imperial Service Medal in case of issue with framed citation, together with Soldier's Service and Pay Book, slouch hat with 4th Corps insignia, cap badges and insignia, photographs, ephemera and a book "Burma Victory"
**Leslie James Ryder was born 23.10.20. He joined the Royal Mail at 14, as a messenger-boy at St.Martins-le-Grand in London. Apart from his war service in Burma, he remained in this employment, retiring as Postmaster at the age of 61. He was awarded the Imperial Service Medal for his 40+ years service.
His War Service, 1941-46, was with the Forgotten Army. Although serving with the RASC, whilst in Burma he saw as much action as many a front-line soldier - namely at Kohima and on the march to Rangoon.

The slouch hat is in good clean condition. The sweatband is dated 1942
