1867-1886 range of 23 mint stamps on a stockpage, including first issue crowned surcharges with the 2cts, 4cts, 32cts and 24cts, some condition issues but basically sound, then 1867 12cts shades mint without faults (SG.15/15a, cat. £525), 1868 4cts shades (both counted as rose), 1883 'TWO CENTS' surcharges on 8cts (SG.54, cat. £350) and 32cts (SG.59, cat. £900) with gum disturbance, 1883/91 set most with toning and other small faults. Nevertheless a fairly presentable group. Total cat. over £4,300.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
