The Heart of the Antarctic, Being the Story of the British Antarctic Expedition, 1907-1909, Heinemann, 1909, two volumes, presentation inscription signed by the author (Feb 1910), frontis to each, colour and monochrome plates as called for (a few plates with frayed margins), folding panorama and three folding maps in rear pocket (some folds reinforced on reverse), errata slip, top edge gilt, original cloth (re-backed retaining original backstrips), modern slipcase

Endpapers tanned. Lighter coloured hinges. Occasional fixing spots throughout. Several plates with worn frayed margins (Volume I). Some very light pencil marks in the margins. Boards rubbed, vertical ridges where re-backed, lettering rubbed/faded. Minor chip out of volume II pictorial on upper board. Free of ownership inscriptions.
