One-volume collection in a Scott 'Minuteman' album, approaching 1000 stamps including some better 19th century with 1850s 12cts Washington imperf through to 1893 Columbian issue mint/unused in mixed condition to 50cts, as well as the $5, natural straight edge at top, possible shallow thin where missing gum. Then Trans-Mississippi mixed mint and used to 50cts with small faults, pre-1920 Washington and Franklin heads to $1, etc, also back of the book incl. 1865 large newspaper stamps, 5cts blue, 10cts green and 25cts red all genuine, unused as issued. Hundreds more stamps on loose album pages and stockpages with disorganised mixed condition range from classics onwards incl. Columbians to 50cts unused, Washington central portrait die proof (faults), etc. Needs inspection.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
