A full carton of collections and accumulations in six binders/albums and folders of album pages, 1000s of stamps mainly pre-1950 from 19th century onwards with lots of coiling dragons with and without overprints, many hundreds of Martyr issues, interesting regional overprints, etc. One of the most interesting areas is the Manchuria Local Overprints 1945-47 on issues of Manchukuo with several hundred written-up in an album and on stockpages. Material runs to some good post-1950 as well, incl. 1983 terracotta army booklet (SG.SB18, cat. £225) with intact and exploded examples.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
