A disorganised but very interesting holding in two cartons, the best component being postal history from lots of pre-stamp to line-engraved incl. 1840 2d blue cover, crowned circle handstamp covers, postmarks and official mail written-up on album leaves, KGV series of postal stationery cut-squares used as postage, controls incl. on cover, etc, etc. Considerable chaos here, requiring a thorough viewing.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
