Some main areas of interest, sifted from the general worldwide holding, namely Egypt, Palestine, Ottoman area, Greece, Balkans, Austro-Hungarian area, and Baltics, filling two cartons. Thousands of mint and used stamps in albums, on album pages and stockcards, much postal history as well, an enormously engaging viewing with much value, many of the sections being good lots bought in auction over the decades and left largely intact, some highlights being a specialised collection of 150+ Albanian shooting star overprints (some signatures), further Albania better items on cards in a small box incl. errors, Hungary from first issues in a series of old loose-leaf albums, lots of 1919 Occupation of Hungary overprints to 10kr, Italian POs abroad and Occupations, good Bosnia, Latvia and Lithuania written-up on pages, etc, the postal history particularly interesting including groups of Egypt and Palestine. A highly reccommended lot.

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
