EADGAR REX around inner circle enclosing small cross pattée, rev. moneyer’s name in two lines divided by three crosses, trefoil above & below name; wt. 1.21g, v-shaped edge chip at 9 o’clock, ingrained dirt & verdigris deposits & dull surfaces but all lettering clear both sides GFine to AVF, together with a fragment of a reform coinage silver penny 973-975; the fragment comprises the inner circle enclosing the king’s portrait & the legend from 11 o’clock to 2 o’clock ‘OX (small cross pattée) EADG,’ wt 1.00g, good portrait detail & clear lettering.
