A Nymphenburg Porcelain Figure of a Putto as Jupiter, circa 1760, from the set of Ovidian Gods modelled by Franz Anton Bustelli, the loosely draped figure wearing a crown holding a thunderbolt, an eagle beside on a rocky moulded base, incised conjoined 2 and 4 representing Jupiter and impressed shield mark, 11cm high

According to the 1760 Inventory of Forms, this series consisted of "26 small figures of deities first quality representing Ovidian Gods". Although to date only 23 figures have been identified. See Ziffer (Alfred ) Nymphenburg Porcelain, The Bäuml Collection, pg.28, item 21 for a similar example.

Substantial firing crack through base extending 5cm up one side of the base, 5cm across the underside of the base and 2cm up the other side of the base. Old yellowing restoration to eagle's head, both legs of putto, and part of drapery, and some losses to thunderbolt. 040512
