Moore and Co., 1774-6. 4 volumes, 8vo in half-sheets (223 x 134 mm), contemporary reversed calf, gilt-lettered red and black labels to spines, marbled edges, marginal spotting, volume 3 headcap chipped, signature 2B1 with hole through text, remains a very good set, together with 5 others similar, including Cornelius à Lapide, Commentaria in quatuor evangelia, editio absolutissima, Augsburg, 1767 (folio, contemporary blind-stamped pigskin over reverse-bevelled wooden boards, bookplate of John William Willis Bund, 1843-1928, lawyer and legal writer), [John Reynolds], Vox coeli, or Newes from Heaven, Elisium [i.e. London], 1624 (ESTC S1671, disbound, headlines shaved), Samuel Hieron, The Sermons, London: John Legatt, 1620 (ESTC S119618, folio, contemporary calf, lacking at least pp.699/700), Fleetwood, Life of Christ, Halifax, c.1840 (4to, contemporary reversed calf), and The Illustrated Family Bible, London: James Sangster and Company, c.1850 (large 4to, contemporary blue calf, rebacked with original spine laid down) (qty: 9)

Darlow & Moule (1903 ed.) 916; ESTC T91161 (six sets in libraries world-wide; a fifth volume, containing the Apocrypha, was also published). The typeface is similar to that used by Baskerville for his 1763 Bible.

To include the Library, Pictures and Camera Collection of Eric Hosking OBE Hon. FRPS FBIPP (1909-1991). Eric Hosking is a name which will require little introduction for ornithology enthusiasts. The first professional bird photographer, he photographed over 1,800 species, and his pictures have appeared in some 1,000 books, including the popular New Naturalist series, of which he was photographic editor. To complement his library, Eric Hosking also built a fine collection of pictures by leading 20th century wildlife artists including Archibald Thorburn, Keith Shackleton and C. F. Tunnicliffe. The sale of his photographic equipment provides an unmissable opportunity to own a remarkable array of high-quality cameras, lenses and other apparatus by manufacturers including Contarex, Hasselblad and Zeiss, and will give skilled users the chance of recreating his photographic feats.
