Muscat official set (SG.O1/O10) philatelic usage 1945, South West Africa official 2d (SG.O11) imprint block 22.8.29 usage, cat. £285 for single on cover, Australia first flights of 1931 and 1934, 'Nauru' 1/- bistre (SG.12) block of four on registered and censored cover, Canada 1922 1ct orange booklet pane (SG.246ab) scarce usage on OHMS cover (cut to more regular length), Antigua 1948 £1 single usage on OHMS cover (cat. £210+), Bahamas 1931 Great Seal set on registered cover, 1935 silver jubilee sets of Morocco Agencies, Sierra Leone and Virgin Islands, as well as interesting postage due items, 1924 Everest label on postcard, etc, plus Gibraltar postmarks on five GB stamps incl. 6d buff Z47 on piece (cat. £150+).

261 lots including several exciting original collections fresh to the market. Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
