Taxidermy: A Cased Pair of Ptarmigan and Red Grouse (Lagopus muta/ Lagopus lagopus scotica), circa 1920, in the manner of W.A. Macleay & Son, Inverness, a pair of adult full mount Ptarmigan in winter plumage male and female, both stood upon a painted faux rock ledge, above a pair of Red grouse, the male laid within a patch of flattened grass, the female behind upon painted rock work, set against a wash painted back drop, enclosed within a period ebonised three-glass display case, 71cm by 29.5cm by 52.5cm.
