Canvas appears to be lined with a small repaired tear to the arm, lower edge. Painting surface appears thin in places. There is dent to the canvas surface to the left of the figures head and appears over painted. UV examination reveals some retouching to repair and background foliage and drapery. The print with acid staining to centre and damp staining to edges. Unexamined out of frame and likely to date to the mid to late 19th century
