A Chinese Carved Stone Head of a Bodhisattva, possibly Tang Dynasty, in Longmen Caves style, carved full face with swept-back hair and top-knot tied by a foliate ornament
19cm high

Provenance: English Private Collection

The facial features and the treatment of the hair with the hair ornament relate to a number of heads from the Longmen Caves in Henan Provence, China.
