Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased European Wigeon (Mareca penelope), by W.R. Pape, Taxidermy, Collingwood Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, est 1830, an adult male Wigeon looking straight ahead, stood within a plain papered interior, enclosed within a period painted pine single-glass display case, 50.5cm by 23.5cm by 36.5cm, signed to interior lower left - "W.R. Pape, Newcastle", bearing full paper trade label to verso.
