A Meissen Porcelain Figure of Alexander the Great, circa 1750, modelled by Johann Joachim Kaendler, emblematic of Greece from the Four Monarchies series, the standing figure wearing a plumed helmet, moulded breast plate, pink and gilt cuirass and yellow lined pink cloak, standing with his right arm raised, a sword at his hip and Cerberus at his side, on a scroll moulded base, crossed swords mark in underglaze blue to the reverse, 22cm high

Old restoration to right hand and right arm, and 2cm x 1cm section at rear of cloak, possibly where tip of sword is lacking. Restoration to handle of sword. Five sections of the cuirass with significant amount missing and with regilding to disguise the breaks. Some wear to moulding on breast plate. Minor wear to enamels throughout. 290812
