A Second World War No.1 Dress Uniform to Brigadier Roy Smith-Hill, Royal Marines, comprising peaked cap, tunic with brass rank badges, buttons and medal ribbons for OBE, British War Medal, Victory Medal, Africa Star, Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal and Coronation Medal 1937, and a pair of trousers with crimson side stripes, together with a copy of his obituary.
**Brig.Roy Smith-Hill was the last surviving officer of the ill-fated 6th Battalion Royal Marines Light Infantry who were sent to Russia instead of going home after the First World War in 1919. Many of the men revolted and were tried by Field General Court Martial

The patent leather peak of the cap has crazing to the surface; there is soiling to the sweatband and lining, otherwise in good condition. The Tunic has wear to the shoulder straps where the rank badges have made small holes, otherwise in good condition, as are the trousers.

We are happy to provide Condition Reports to Prospective Buyers, but would welcome your request as soon as possible, preferably at least 48 hours before the Day of Sale.
