1915 De La Rue seahorses: 2/6d sepia-brown, SG.spec.N64(13), excellent very lightly hinged mint and cds used examples; 10/- blue SG.spec.N70(1) attractive used with neat and light cds of small format; and 10/- deep blue SG.spec.N70(2) superb used with crisp Threadneedle St. registration cancel and beautifully centred. Highlights of the October 30th Stamp Sale include a very extensive collection of Switzerland assembled over a lifetime by a former President of the Helvetia Society of Great Britain with focus on postal history beautifully written-up on album pages; a specialised collection of Ceylon with many of the key stamps including an excellent range of classics plus King George V key-plate high values, plus from the same estate a group of the Indian State of Jammu & Kashmir including a complete presentation album sent out in 1899 on behalf of the Maharajah. Also an extremely interesting large folio presentation volume of 19th Turkish revenue proof sets with ornate binding suggesting a possibly unique production for the Ottoman royal family.
