Taxidermy: A Cased Rainbow Trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), dated 1903, preserved and mounted within a naturalistic setting amidst reeds and grasses, set above a pebbled river bed, mounted against a pale blue painted back drop, enclosed within a typical period ebonised three-glass display case, 52cm by 10.5cm by 28.5cm, hand written legend to verso - "This Rainbow Trout was reared in an aquarium, it was about 3" long, purchased at Covent Garden, it was over 2 years old when it suddenly died without any apparent cause, it weighed about 2lbs, 3 Grosvenor Gdns, St Leonards, 1903".
