A Rare Stainless Steel Centre Seconds Air Ministry Military Issue Wristwatch, signed Longines, Weems, 1939, issued in 1940, (calibre 1268) lever movement signed and numbered 5940759, silvered dial with Arabic numerals, 60-minute calibrated bezel with a screw button in the band, fixed bars between lugs, snap-on back engraved A.M Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd MK VIIA 6B/159 2939/40, numbered inside case back 20828 1339, 35mm wide see illustration

The Weems system allowed the wearer to set the exact time via the seconds hand. The wearer turns the bezel, synchronizing against an external time signal, then secures the bezel with the screw button. The Mk VIIA code 6B/159 were issued to pilots.

03.03.16, Case with surface scratches, the crown that sets the bezel is missing and the stem is broken, strap is worn, dial is discoloured and stained in parts, case back with engraved inscription, movement with balance staff broken, one pallet jewel appears to be missing, movement needs cleaning, not working.
