An Interesting Large Rack Lever Pocket Watch, inscribed Pickford & Co No.7, signed Geo Grove, No.93
By repute this watch is considered to be a 'coachman's watch' and linked to the Pickford & Co Removal Transport Company. Pickford & Co was founded in the mid 18th century and was one of the country's greatest national concerns. Until the introduction of the railway, Pickford's coaches were commonly used to transport goods around the country. The Pickford Company is still in existence.
13.02.15, Outer case is missing, case back inscribed Pickford & Co No.7, case with surface scratches and small dents, possibly later dial, movement is clean, in going order.
