REGNO D'ITALIA around shield with arms of Italy on eagle within crowned mantle of two crossed banners, edge inscribed DIO PROTEGGE L'ITALIA, diameter 37mm, weight 24.83g, .900 silver, numerous obv. minor rim nicks and contact marks on bust and in field, rev. much better, Fine/AVF; together with Venice, 'Revolutionary Coinage' Silver 5 Lire 1848V, Venice Mint, obv. REPUBBLICA VENETA 22 MARZO 1848 around nimbate winged lion holding book inscribed with the Latin motto of Venice: PAX TIBI MARCE EVANGELISTA MEVS ('Peace unto you, Mark, my evangelist'), rev. UNIONE ITALIANA around wreath enclosing value, edge inscribed DIO BENEDITE L'ITALIA, diameter 37mm, weight 35.03g, .900 silver, minor obv. rim imperfections where edge lettering stamped close to edge and minor hairlines, otherwise good edge and surfaces, VF to GVF.
