SHOTGUN CERTIFICATE REQUIRED FOR THIS LOT A 12 Bore Side by Side Double Barrel Sidelock Ejector Shotgun by W Richards, 44 Fishergate, Preston, number 9094, the 76cm (30'') blued steel nitro proof barrels signed on the top flat, with doll's head extension, the left barrel with improved cylinder, the right barrel with true cylinder, 2½'' chambers, with signed and foliate engraved lock plates, blued over-lever break, slide safety and trigger guard, well figured French walnut stock with teardrop and finely chequered grip and fore-end, silver vacant escutcheon, 119cm (47''), contained in original brass bound stitched leather case, the crimson baize lined interior with maker's paper label to the inner cover and fitted with accessories including ebony cleaning rod with brass jags, oil flask, cleaning patches, snap caps and leather cartridge belt. Footnote:- With a solicitor's note stating ''This gun and case was a 21st birthday gift to Edward S Healey (b.1886) in 1907, and was little used by him before the First World War broke out in 1914, when he joined the armed forces. Between 1918 and his death in 1943 he hardly used the gun at all. It was stored away from 1943 and seldom used by Mr. Healey's grandson. He is a solicitor in a Hong Kong and wishes to dispose of his gun mainly because he never has an opportunity to use it''. The present owner/vendor has used it very little.
