A Platinum Diamond Ring, a round brilliant cut diamond in a four claw setting to shoulders...

A Platinum Diamond Ring, a round brilliant cut diamond in a four claw setting to shoulders inset with brilliant cut diamonds on a plain polished shank, finger size N1/2

The ring is accompanied by a diamond certificate from HRD Antwerp, dated April 17, 2015, giving the principal diamond weight as 4.62 carat, colour G, clarity VVS1

Diamonds have been prized for centuries, used as gems, talismans or tools. Regularly given as a token of love they are the subject of much folklore, often believed to represent the purity of love or eternal love.
When valuing a diamond there are four main factors to consider, often referred to as 'the 4 C's'. They are caratweight, cut, colour and clarity.
Caratweight
This particular diamond is 4.62 carat, a diamond of this size is aspirational for most people, and far larger than the majority of engagement rings. A carat equates to 0.2 grams, so this diamond will weigh just under 1 gram.
Cut
This refers to the shape of the diamond, here we have a round brilliant cut. This is the most popular cut, not least because round brilliant cuts are designed to achieve optimum sparkle by returning the most possible light back to the eye.
Colour
There are two scales of colour, we use the GIA's alphabetical scale, which begins with the letter D and goes to Z. Colour G is a desirable white colour, free from tint of colour (most people begin to see a tint of colour at around H).
Clarity
This is an assessment as to how free from inclusions a diamond is. A clarity of VVS1 as we have here is a far higher clarity grade than the average commercial level diamond. It literally means that the diamond has very very small inclusions, in fact, it is very close to being a flawless stone.
Not Sold

The ring is in good condition. It is hallmarked with sponsor's mark 'GO', London, 2015. Gross weight 5.8 grams. CR made 15th June 2016
