Taxidermy: A Cased Giant Goldfish (Carassius auratus), dated 1948, by John Cooper & Sons, 78 Bath Road, Hounslow, (Griggs), a large wild Goldfish preserved and mounted in a naturalistic setting amidst reeds and grasses, set above a pebbled river bed, mounted against a graduated green painted backboard, enclosed within a typical ebonised bow-fronted three-glass display case with verre eglomise border, 75.5cm by 19cm by 43cm, bearing gilt legend to front glass - "Giant Goldfish, caught by G.A. Roberts, Butlers Retreat pond, Chingford, 12th Aug.1948", to the case top an applied aluminium label " The Property of BMTn ANG SOCI", taxidermist's full paper trade label to interior upper left
