Taxidermy/Natural History: A Large Cased Cast of a West Indian Ocean Coelacanth (Latimeria chalumnae), modern, a lifesize plaster cast of an adult Coelacanth, mounted above a rock and pebble covered sea floor, set against a pale blue painted back drop, enclosed within a large ebonised single-glass display case, 142cm by 30cm by 76.5cm, bearing data plaque to interior lower right - "Caught by Aboudou Ahmed, open Sea off Vanamboini, Grande Comore at a depth of 200 metres, 24th March 1969, wgt 70lbs 8ozs". Famously thought to have been extinct for 66 million years until being rediscovered in 1938.
