Hi Robbie. Shell has been passed down through family members last one, from Peters mother to her only son Peter. Paternal side of family. Peter’s great grandfather was a merchant seaman who worked out of Liverpool.. Surname Stout. Who docked and brought it back to Liverpool. Peter’s family on paternal side lived and were born in Liverpool . Like Peters grandmother, mother. Also Peter was born in Liverpool too until he was six yrs old moved to Chinley Derbyshire. Peter is the owner as his mum left it to him when she died in 2010. Hope this is the details you need. Peter thinks it’s late 1800s his great grandmother was called Price. Also her husband was a butcher on a merchant ship as well. But it’s from Peters great great grandmothers husband.

Verso of the shell has been historically painted with a light brown paint, two small chips to outer edge of the shell the largest 2cm, natural crazing to some of the shell surface (see images).
