King Edward VII Memorabilia - A Rare Official Buckingham Palace Bulletin, dated July 4th (1902) 7pm on paper embossed with the Royal Coat of Arms declaring "The King has had a quiet day. His constitutional condition is satisfactory and the wound shows more active signs of repair" and signed by the King's surgeon Fredk.Travas, and physicians Francis Laking and Thos. Barlow., together with research material.
Footnote:- The Bulletin would have been posted at the gates of Buckingham Palace to inform the condition of the King, who was diagnosed with perityphlitis (appendicitis) on 24th June 1902, two days before he was due to be crowned, causing the Coronation to be postponed. A surgical operation was carried out (on the table of the Music Room in Buckingham Palace) to drain his abdominal cyst.
