Taxidermy: A Late Victorian Cased Black-Tailed Trainbearer Hummingbird (Lesbia victoriae), re-cased by A.J. Armitstead, Taxidermy, Darlington, Co Durham, a full mount male Black-tailed Trainbearer hummingbird, perched atop a small twisted branch, above another Hummingbird tending a nest of three faux eggs, amidst a natural setting of ferns, tall grasses and fauna, set above a simulated glass pool of water, enclosed and re-cased within an arched seven-glass table display case, 34.5cm by 9.5cm by 33cm, bearing taxidermist's paper trade label to underside

Auction: Natural History & Taxidermy, 20th Apr, 2022

To include a collection of Indian and European Game Trophies from Kilberry Castle, Argyll. Many of the trophies date from the second half of the 19th century, with rare and historical specimens including Asian Water Buffalos, Astor Markhors, Bengal Tigers, Indian Leopards and Himalayan Tahr.
