A Slender Chinese Ivory Feather Fan, Qing Dynasty, the guards very delicately carved with two sections with flowers and buildings and two plain panels, the gorge and lower guards carved and pierced in bands, highlighted in gold. The white feathers are painted in vibrant colours with a central large bird perched on a tree, and too each side large butterflies feast on flowers. The sides and top border are painted with colourful flowers, as is the verso. Guard length 22cm; and A Mid-19th Century Chinese Wooden Mandarin Fan, Qing Dynasty, lacquered in black with a design of floral sprays in muted aubergine. The double paper leaf is painted in strong blue, green, orange and lilac and shows seven figures with applied painted ivory faces and silk robes. The verso shows a large scale design of flowers and a brightly coloured bird perched on a rock. Guard length 29cm (2)

Fan 1 - The ivory is dirty and the feathers and paint are a little worn. Fan 2 - Monture sound, slight rubbing to the sticks, rubbing to the leaf folds and some paper loss to the first folds to the right on the verso. Slightly grubby.
