oblong and on four ball feet, with part-fluted lower-body and with foliage and shell-heightened gadrooned border, the hinged cover part-fluted and with fluted finial, the cover engraved with a crest, with a keyhole and later lock

Fully marked underneath and further part marked inside cover. The marks are generally clear. There is some surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a softening to the border and engraving. There are some minor bruises, especially to the feet. The lock mechanism is later and the key is lacking.
