A Second World War RAF, RAAF and ROC Group of Nine Medals to Wing Commander William Anderson Beaumont, comprising the Ordinary Companion of the Order of the Bath (Civil Division) neck badge (with box of issue), OBE Breast Badge (Military, with box of issue), Burma Star, Defence Medal, War Medal, General Service Medal 1918-62 with clasp S.E.ASIA 1945-46 (FG.OFF. W.A.BEAUMONT RAF), Coronation Medal 1953, Air Efficiency Award, Elizabeth II (FLT.LT.W.A.BEAUMONT R.AUX.A.F.), Royal Observer Corps Medal, Elizabeth II (OBSERVER W.A.BEAUMONT) all swing mounted as worn, with the miniatures, together with his Royal Canadian Air Force Flying Log Book, with entries 27.5.44 to 16.10.45, embroidered insignia of two raised bullion thread cap badges (Geo.VI and EII), four Navigators brevet, a 355 Squadron blazer badge, Royal Observer Corps embroidered raised bullion thread cap badge, white metal cap badge, R.O.C. shoulder titles and thirteen buttons, three framed citations for the Coronation Medal, the OBE and the Order of the Bath with related booklets, a Caterpillar Club badge named to the above and a Goldfish Club badge, each with membership card, a silver plated presentation mug and salver DATED 1961, various badges and a newspaper cutting describing his rescue from the jungle etc.; also, a British War Medal to LIEUT.K.G MACKENZIE, a miniature GSM and a silver plated mug presented to FLG.OFF.KYTHE BEAUMONT, R.AUX.A.F. 1956

Footnote:- Pilot Officer W A Beaumont and the rest of his crew of 355 Squadron, were forced to bale out of their crippled Liberator on 2nd September 1945 whilst on a mission to drop supplies to a POW camp. He was missing in the jungle for four days. He survived by perching on a platform he had built to raise himself above the flood waters of the Ganges Delta. He had no food, but drank rain water dripping from the leaves. He was rescued after spending four days and nights in the jungle. This operation is recorded in his log book.

Highlights include a rare 1943 US edition of the French 1939 Michelin Guide used during the D-Day landings, a Second World War RAF, RAAF and ROC Group of Nine Medals to Wing Commander William Anderson Beaumont, who survived four days and nights without food in the jungle and the uniform of POW Major General Philip Thomas Tower including his khaki greatcoat which became his escape outfit. Also included is a pair of 18th Century Percussion Duelling/Target Pistols by Twigg & Bass, London, circa 1780-83, a French 1830 Revolution Model Shako to d'Officer de Chasseur de La Garde Nationale and a Birmingham City Police Rose Top Helmet and an Isle of Man Police Force Ball Top Helmet.
