A Collection of Circa 1930s and Later Bed Linen Some Bearing the 'EM' Monogram for Edwina Mountbatten, comprising a pale peach cotton pillowcase with belgian needle lace trims to each end, bears 'EM' monogram, drawn thread work and button fastening; two pale peach cotton pillowcases with cream silk applique border, insertions to leaf designs, 75cm by 78cm, matching sheet 240cm by 300cm; pale peach cotton sheet, 230cm by 250cm; pale pink cotton pillowcase, inserted 'EM' monogram, drawn thread work decoration, 85cm by 60cm; two pale pink silk pillowcases, embroidered with stylised 'EM' monogram and appliqued flower heads, 80cm by 65cm; pale pink pillowcase with leaf appliques to the border, 75cm by 75cm; other bed linens including cotton pillowcases and sheets printed with purple floral sprigs, with a scalloped border and drawn thread work, 83cm square; cream cotton sheet with drawn thread work triangular designs to the top, 245cm by 340cm, woven nametape to one corner 'Mountbatten'; two French pale green cotton pillowcases printed with a stylised 'M' and decorative laurel within a scalloped border, 80cm sq, two matching sheets 240cm by 300cm; matching cotton bed linen printed in blue on a cream ground including three sheets one with straight sides 180cm by 290cm, another with scalloped edges 180cm by 300cm, printed to the selvedge 'Tissus Exclusifs D-Porthault'; two pink silk bedcovers adorned with ostrich feathers, silk reverse 220cm by 280cm, and two similar pillowcases with down feathers, 100cm by 80cm; another pink bed cover with pink down feather centre, gilt trim to the reverse, 180cm by 180cm, similar pink pillowcase (two boxes)

Pale peach pillowcase - trim split at one end, couple of tiny brown spots. Two pale peach pillowcases with silk surround - silk split to the 60% of the edges, some small areas of discolouration.- small hole to silk border and same wear. Matching sheet - some fading down the fold, darned areas, small holes and brown spotting. Pale peach sheet - darned hole and couple of tiny brown spots. Two pale pink pillowcases - slight wear. Two pale pink pillowcases embroidered flower heads - 1 -a stitched repair and couple of small areas of wear. 2- several tiny holes to the front and back. Leaf appliqued pillowcase - slight wear. Purple floral sprigged pillowcase - large patch to the centre of the case with a darned area. Cream cotton sheet - several darned areas overall. Pale green M pillowcases - both very worn, faded, darned and numerous holes. Matching sheet- splits, large patched repairs, darned areas. Blue printed sheets - some discolouration and slight brown spotting overall to both. Pink silk bedcover with feathers and pillowcase - couple of splits to the top to be stitched amongst the feathers, feather losses, and needs stitches to repair the reverse, slight discolouring and wear to the silk, case slight wear. Pink down bed cover and pillow cases - stains and discolouration, feather losses to both.

Wednesday 17 August - Thursday 18 August 10am-4pm, Friday 19 August 10am-5pm and morning of sale from 8am. Viewing is open to the public, there is no need to make an appointment.
