A Victorian and Later Silver Table-Service
by Elizabeth and John Eaton, London, 1861 and 1862

Fiddle pattern, engraved with a crest, comprising:
6 table-spoons, 1861
6 table-forks, 1862
6 dessert-spoons, 1861
6 dessert-forks, 1862
6 teaspoons, 1862
and the following Old English Thread pattern items, with filled handles and stainless steel blades, by William Yates Ltd., Sheffield, 1976:
6 table-knives
6 cheese-knives
and the following Old English Thread pattern items, with filled handles and silver attachments, by Atkin Brothers, Sheffield, 1896, 1904, 1906, 1908 and 1909:
6 fish-forks
6 fish-knives
in a fitted oak canteen with hinged cover and detachable tray
the canteen 45cm wide, weighable silver 62oz 8dwt, 1,941gr (60)

Each piece is marked on the handle as expected. There is some minor wear to the marks on some of the Victorian pieces. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. This is most noticeable as a minor softening to the tines and edges of the bowls and to the engraving. There are some scuffs to the case. The case with ivorine plaque.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
