Composite Collection of Textiles Embroidered with the Monograms, comprising a set of ten white cotton napkins with crochet trims, and a mixed group of ten other napkins bearing the monogram of Sir Ernest Cassel 'EC' 'EJC'; four coloured damask napkins woven with a central crest, flanked by rearing horses, standing dog surmount and the verse 'suaviter in modo, fortiter in re' 'gently in manner, firmly in action', 80cm square; other linen napkins, hand towels, silk and cotton pillowcases, some bearing monograms; ten white linen mats of various designs, some printed 'Mountbatten' to the reverse, or embroidered in red 'MB',110cm by 72cm (one box)

The sale will also include a selection of Zandra Rhodes Dresses, a private collection of textiles with provenance from the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and thence by family descent, a collection of monogrammed bed linen and accessories for Princess Mary of Harewood House, West Yorkshire, and a collection of costume, textiles & ephemera from Castle Howard, North Yorkshire.

Viewing

Wednesday 17 August - Thursday 18 August 10am-4pm, Friday 19 August 10am-5pm and morning of sale from 8am. Viewing is open to the public, there is no need to make an appointment.
