Taxidermy: A Cased Eurasian Bittern (Botaurus stellaris), 1860-1942, by James Hutchings, Taxidermist's, Aberystwyth, Wales, a full mount adult with head turning sharply to the left, the mantle raised in full display, stood upon painted simulated rockwork, amidst a natural setting of tall grasses, reeds and ferns, above painted groundwork beneath, set against a graduated watercolour painted backdrop, enclosed within a typical trade mark ebonised three-glass display case with gilded slip border, 40cm by 27cm by 82cm
