Two George III Silver Basting-Spoons

each Old English pattern, engraved with a crest below a viscount's coronet

The crest is that of Howard possibly for Thomas Howard, later 16th Earl of Suffolk and 9th Earl of Berkshire (1776-1851), as Viscount Andover, the courtesty title he gained on the death of his brother in 1800 and held until the death of his father in 1820 at which time he succeeded him in the dual earldoms of Suffolk and Berkshire.

Each marked on back of bowl. The marks are genereally clear. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. There is a split/repair to the bowl of one where the heel connects to the bowl.
