A 17th Century Joined Oak Westmorland Chest, initialled IM and dated 1690, the hinged lid with four fielded panels enclosing a vacant interior with scrolled and lozenge carved panels below, all between moulded stiles and muntins, 138cm by 50cm by 66cm

All panels to the hinged lid are split (see images). Previously fitted with a candle box. Some old decay is visible on the interior. The end panels with some small splitting. There is some typical old decay around the legs.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.
