A George V Silver 'Jigger' Multi-Tool
by T. Nightingale and Son, Birmingham, 1920

oblong, double hinged and engraved with foliage scrolls, with a space for a razor blade and with various notches and openings to suit a variety of purposes
76mm long, 1oz 10dwt, 47gr

The 'Jigger' is described in a contemporary advertisement as providing a use for discarded safety razors and is meant to provide twenty different applications, from pocket-knife to string and cigar-cutter. They were produced in a variety of materials, including silver, such as the example here.

Part marked on each section and further stamped with design registration number. The marks are generally clear. The hinges each function properly. There is some overall surface scratching and wear, consistent with age and use. The wear is noticeable as a minor softening to the engraving.
