The Family Fans: A Box Containing Three Fans, a black feather boa with silk tassels, and various loose feathers including one in bright colours cut and styled to be worn as a 1920's headdress, the whole having been stored in the attic for many years. To comprise a bone fan, late 19th century, the leaf of pale salmon silk painted in pastels with dog roses and other fine flower heads and foliage, the upper border edged with marabou and mixed with pale pink feathers that have been trimmed to hang and move in the breeze; a white ostrich feather fan, mounted on white mother-of-pearl, labelled as a wedding present with family members detailed; and a 1920's wooden fan painted a whitish grey, with silvering to the gorge, and fluffy feathers of a similar hue.
Guard lengths 11.25 inches or 28.5cm, 14.5 inches (including the feathers to tip) or 37cm, and 14 inches or 36cm to the feather tips respectively

. in used condition but retaining good colour. The Ostrich fan needs one feather re-securing. The monture on the 20's fan is sound but the feathers need attention. The boa and other feathers are still fit for purpose.
