A George III Silver Vinaigrette
by Matthew Linwood, Birmingham, 1804

oblong and with fluted sides, with double-hinged, one side with foliage engraved and pierced grille, detached, later engraved inside one cover 'Elizabeth'

Fully marked on bezel of one hinged end and further marked with maker's mark only on the other bezel. The marks are generally clear. There is some surface scratching and wear consistent with age and use. There is a lip into which the grille fits but it is currently detached.
