Assorted Circa 1950s Ladies Coats, comprising a black wool long sleeved coat of tailored shape, with side pockets and a velvet mounted collar; a Cherry of London royal blue ribbed tailored coat with button fastening and side pockets; light purple wool coat with single button fastening; black wool double breasted coat with front pockets and tab to the reverse; a blue and black checked wool double breasted coat retailed by R & M Forsyth of Edinburgh; an olive green wool tailored coat with long sleeves and side pockets; Cotsmoor of London brown and cream wool coat with brushed cotton brown and cream checked lining; and a blue Weldcrest London double-breasted coat with lapels and tab to the reverse (size 14) (8)

Black wool coat - 32" bust, 46" long, fading to the velvet, and slight wear overall. Cherry of London coat - some discolouration around the neck. Purple wool coat - 42" bust by 46" long, some wear and discolouration to the lining. Black wool double breasted coat - 38" bust, 40" long, rubbing to the top of pocket, alterations to lining. R&M Forsyth coat - 38" bust, 42" long - repairs to sleeve holes and slight wear, lining repairs to sleeve holes. Olive coat - 38" bust, 46" long, some wear. Cotsmoor of London coat - bobbling and wear to the wool and lining- 42" bust and 41" long. Weldcrest coat - 36" bust, 38" long - slight wear.

Regarding Pictures, Prints and Works on Paper, works are not examined out of the frame, unless specifically stated. Tennants Auctioneers do not cover damage to gilded wood or plaster picture frames, or to picture frame glass whilst the item is in our possession.

The sale will also include a selection of Zandra Rhodes Dresses, a private collection of textiles with provenance from the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and thence by family descent, a collection of monogrammed bed linen and accessories for Princess Mary of Harewood House, West Yorkshire, and a collection of costume, textiles & ephemera from Castle Howard, North Yorkshire.

Wednesday 17 August - Thursday 18 August 10am-4pm, Friday 19 August 10am-5pm and morning of sale from 8am. Viewing is open to the public, there is no need to make an appointment.
