A small accumulation of albums and a couple of cigar boxes, the main event being China, the earliest a ½ct on yellow Imperial surcharge, though mainly mid-20th century issues, one stockbook with over 200 1950s/'60s issues used incl. 1967 Thoughts of Mao se-tenant pair, various chrysanthemums, goldfish, etc. Also Russia and East German issues. The loose on-paper and off-paper is interesting, mainly pre-1960 incl. Afghanistan 1921 30pa green block of 15 on piece including tete-beche, postmarked with Kabul foreign mail handstamps.

Highlights include a specialised collection of St. Helena stamps and postal history, and a very extensive and impressive holding of Russian postal history with a particular focus on the Post Offices Abroad. The latter collector’s interests also extended through the Baltics to excellent Scandinavian Locals, as well as around the Eastern Mediterranean from the Balkans to Palestine and Egypt.
Amongst the postcards offered in the sale are fantastic albums from a dedicated collector, of high-quality and comprehensively assembled, which include transport related cards of Leeds, Skipton, Lancaster, Teesside and Middlesbrough as well as excellent general Yorkshire cards.
