A Victorian Silver Punch-Bowl, by Walter and John Barnard, London, 1886, tapering and on spreading conforming foot, the body chased overall with foliage scrolls and flowers, each side with a cartouche, one engraved with a coat-of-arms below an earl's coronet, the other engraved with an inscription, in a fitted mahogany case and with a George III silver toddy ladle with twisted whale bone handle, London, 1781, the bowl 30cm diameter, weighable silver 46oz 10dwt, 1,446gr The inscription reads 'Presented by Frank Andrew, J.P, Mayor of the Manor of Ashton under Lyne (1885-86, 1886-87) to the Court Leet of the Trustees of the Late Earl of Stamford and Warrington in Commemoration of the Fiftieth Year of the Reign of Her Most Gracious Majesty Queen Victoria Ashton under Lyne, 20th June 1887' Provenance: Bonhams, Chester, 5 July 2011, lot 340.

. The punch bowl marked on lower body. The marks are clear. In generally good condition with only some very minor scratching and wear. The toddy-ladle marked inside the bowl. There is wear to the marks and the maker's mark appears to be lacking. There is a patch to the ladle where the crest is engraved. The case with scratches and scuffing overall.
