Two Similar 18th Century Silk Needlework Panels, the first depicting a piping shepherd seated by a tree in a pastoral landscape, beside his grazing flock and faithful dog, with a cottage in the background and birds flying in the sky, worked in coloured silks, 46cm by 38cm; the second represents a farmer seated with his sweetheart underneath a tree, watching his two cattle grazing, with a cottage in the background, worked in coloured silks, 48cm by 39cm, both in similar rope twist style gilt frames (2)

. Shepherd picture - several small areas where the canvas is visible, to the sky and birds, around the base of the tree and to the lower margin. Silks are worn in some areas, mainly to the sheep and some fading and wear. Farmer and Cattle picture - canvas visible to the top in the sky, to the roof of the cottage, windows, the maiden and farmers hat. Slight wear to the some of the silk, mainly to the flowers on the lower part of picture, slight fading and wear overall.
