Decorative Early 20th Century Embroidered Costume, comprising a centrepiece from a childs christening gown/robe embroidered in the Indian style with decorative figures or soldiers wearing a uniform of short skirts, pointed hats with three 'spikes' to the top, flying birds, flowers, trees, cartouches, swags and cut work; girls/ladies white cotton short sleeve chemise, with flower head lace insertions, delicately worked zig zag seams, indistinctly hand written in black pen to the back opening 'Anne M Taylor'; Limerick cream lace embroidered apron, decorated with boteh and floral motifs (3)

The sale will also include a selection of Zandra Rhodes Dresses, a private collection of textiles with provenance from the 1st Earl Mountbatten of Burma and thence by family descent, a collection of monogrammed bed linen and accessories for Princess Mary of Harewood House, West Yorkshire, and a collection of costume, textiles & ephemera from Castle Howard, North Yorkshire.

Viewing

Wednesday 17 August - Thursday 18 August 10am-4pm, Friday 19 August 10am-5pm and morning of sale from 8am. Viewing is open to the public, there is no need to make an appointment.
